Blogging in Swe

It is the 2nd day of xmas and I am currently sitting in the old bedroom of my love’s parents… trying to work up the courage to write something worthwhile and stimulating so who ever may read this will not be disappointed by my effort to bring a close to MY 2000 and 7.
I guess, writing out a 2000 and a 7, I must be thankful for the fact that I suddenly realize(again) that I am a lucky and happy son of my mother. But when I sit down to really explain a feeling like that, I start to wonder and explore where to begin. Describing a list of discoveries and moments for others to read is the first thing that springs to mind… but seeing nobody reads this blog anyway, I can better start to explore the “rudimentary” building blocks which have so clearly revealed themselves to me over the last year and 9 months (counting back to my emergence from the bowels of DUT).

My thoughts go back to the moment when 4 JAMMING partners buy their first REAL asset… A fussball table. This table and its simple goal of playing and scoring, represents a whole lot more than just a game (I will get back to the nature and powers of this magic tool later…). It in my opinion can be seen as the start of letting go of the need to know where you are going, when we all know our drive is to do the best we can to win and score!
What I shall see as my new challenge is that I do not need to describe and block out everything for the improvement of the way JAM works. I realized that when I write something down or block something out, it will not immediately translate into truth or reason; especially not for others! Herein lays my challenge. I must carefully try to find a balance between my ability to gather information and feel when the time is right to share this information. The abundance of ideas which come to me just by association can just be thoughts which I jot down in my dummy or in my desktop notes. This pot of gold will grow and grow, but it will be up to me to see how it will trickle into existence… slowly. Timing of my trickle is crucial when I want to be part of a TEAM calling itself JAM.
I am a very lucky boy to be part of such a group of friends…they are undoubtedly my salvation. I would most likely end up as just one of those IDEA geysers who see their efforts go up in a cloud of mist, never being able to create a solid step towards realization. With my friends who understand me, and I them, it will be possible for me to realize whatever I come up with…which is a pretty amazing feeling!
What I do need to take care of is the fact that others have ideas too. And just like mine, they need to bubble up to the surface in their own particular way. Another building block for me will be that I develop a special sense which allows me to sniff out an idea and figure out the best way to make it come to the surface without affecting it too much, so it can grow into something that will be welcomed and associated upon with open arms and minds…
So totally in character I must record my first building block for 2008:
“Try to find the balance between sharing and developing an idea or even an association… once an idea is brought into a group of people at the right time, they will explore and discuss it from their own characteristic point of view and hopefully make the idea a shared goal (…which is easier to realize with a group then by yourself). A shared goal has a better chance of succeeding and the reward will be greater too!
BUT Take care!: Once you share a thought or the beginning of an idea it will get its identity and meaning from the people who breathe life into it. A combined breath equals a combined effort and a combined result… take one breath away and it will be a different effort.
So… the day before I leave with Anna for Stockholm… this is what I blog…

My sister digs GOGOL

Even before Burning Man, Iris bought tickets for Gogol Bordello. This is the kind of music which, even to me, is new and old at the same time... Gypsy Balkan Punk Rock Sillyness! What I did find out was that my summer years of hangin' in front of the stage are definitly gone! They have been replaced by the warm embrace of a bar and trays of good will beer to make new 2 hour friends. What was made very clear this evening that both Iris and Myself remember that we are made from the same wood! I haven't laughed that much for a long time! Thanks sis! and thank you Gogol for your far off stage presence! I didn't hear much, but I am wearing purple weraing purple!

Oh yeah... Iris... a pen mous-tache is like a hangover... it reminds you of the good time you had the day before!

This last saterday...I had a day off. A great feeling! Combine this with the finding of a present for Charlotte and it will end up in the american bookstore, HANAZUKI and Mevis & the Italiaander... 3 great spots whre to get great gifts. WhatI found at the non-bookstore were 3 paintings. 3 canvasses waiting to be refreshed. After I got home I finally got to do what I had in mind... this was the result:

These are my new guardian angels...already helping me to survive high falls from attics and be save from general harm. I have called them Margaretha & Cornelia after my mother and they are doing well. I am trying to track down their origin...when I kno more I will introduce them properly!

Home update...

Today was the day...the day that light was created over our table! JEEEZZZ....how corney can you get!?! I realize now that I have joint the ranks of all those wh are trying to create that perfect spot. Well...today a part of that spot was finished by the ritual hanging of the lamp! Now we can finally have our dinerparties...for we can see clearly now! The dark is gone!

ROBODOK07

The experience at Robodock last week was weird in the sense that it felt so small in comparisson to the Nevada experience (...nice observation swayze!). This does absolutely NOT mean that the efforts and inspiration were any dif'rent! The 10 year celebration of the robodok festival was a joy to walk around in, but what stuck the most on my lens was the fire pendulum! At around 2.30 some of the flaming lotus girls and a couple of other "BURNERS" wondered of to the outskirts of the festival terrain to witness the awsome sight of a remote controled blowtorch on a stick! This resulted in some nice images of afterburner effects and fire patterns.
Again... you can check it out on flickr: here

The Polaroids are scanned!

The burningmn 2007 experience can be captured beautifully by the digital eye...but to capture the spirit...you need a polaroid! heck out my results on:

A great deal of blogging ahead...

It is tuesday night...the 11th of September... Guy's Birthday! Happy Day My Boedha! This is the first entry of many which will be made on my new red little monster Laptop!...The blogs will tell the story of my Burningman experience with Iris, the great steps of emotional living within JAM, the new autum adventures of Anna & Dennis in their quest to fill their Habitat with suitable visual violence, links to all the promised pictures of the last half year and my explorations in the wake of ALOHA (slow cooking makes for the best sauce...). For now I will leave you with a taste of youtube madness looking back at the mega-fire-cloud at Burningman. This project was called crude awakenings and was rumoured to be the biggest purposely build man made fire ball of all time...

I will keep you posted about links of my pictures (and those of Iris) on flickr.com. If you can not wait just typ in burningman 2007...

A week of reflection

The first week of august 2007 was reserved for LANDSORT. Me and Anna only had a week this year, but we made every second count by doing as much nothings as we could. Great feeling to come to a place where you do not have to do anything and were every day is a comfortable breath of fresh air. Even though the weather wasn't great in the beginning it turned into a great combination of Sun, Rain & Clouds. What happend when you are there should happend to everyone once in a while...but I realized that this is my yearly stay on a camping (very dutch thing to do...). With the subtle diffence that it is located in a place which isn't named "the end of the world" for nothing. I also realize a couple of important life-lessons or clichees... Not really sure if I am able to blog these things & am realizing right now that there are some things you should keep to yourself. I can only safely say that "a happy body floats well in cold watter!"

Our table has arrived!

after a 2 week waiting period...it finally happend! We got our pirate table!!! Thanks to Arno (of Becky) we were able to actually fit the monster deck through our staircase (with some scratches that will remind us to next time move the whole thing through the window...). When its legs were attached we could finally argue about something entirely different... the way it would be positioned in our living space. Wauw...but what a table! We can call ourselves the proud owners of a genuined recycled teak pirate deck! All the excusses about not being able to invite anyone over for diner until we have a proper table, can now be laid to rest. For those who actually read this blog (and that are friends of the pirate family ofcourse!) we extend our open arms!

The only challenge now is learning how to balance a wineglass on the course surface of the table... time for germanic drinking goblets with caps!

Il Metodo di Passione... CHI Holland

A new show has been born...

combine the raw sidestep power of drs. ir. IANUS Keller ( http://www.forinspirationonly.com/ ), the unstopable sound tracks and interactive violance of Pieter Diepenmaat and WLDRF(http://www.pieterdiepenmaat.nl/ & www.wldrf.com/chi ) and the passion for clarity and visualization of Myself (http://www.jam-site.nl/ )...and you get Il Metodo de Passione. A light intermezzo during the CHI Confension in Eindhoven on the 21st of June (http://www.chi-nederland.nl/, http://www.chi-conferentie.nl/ ). The idea was to give a small half hour intermezzo so the confension go-ers would be reminded about what it is they should be focussing on... exploiting their Methods to express their passion! Take a look at the movie that is placed on Citytv.nl .

Greeeeeece..land of olives feta and tzatziki

It seem ages ago, but Anna and myself have just returned from our temple tour 2007! This country has a lot to offer and in our experience is at its best when you go off season (end of may). Our first impression of greeks was that they are obsessed with 4 things... their garden, their bath and bedroom, powertools and their cars! On the way over from the airpoirt to the centre of town we only past stores which sold stuff to either upgrade your living space or provided you with the german way of transportation...
We were surprised by the lack of people who should have been blocking our view of the pantheon temple. The Akrolpolis, which is the big rock this temple is placed on, was free from
tourists (except one group of japanese people) and really conveyed its powerful and immense character... the first two days of slight dutch weather helped to wear of any large tour groups.
A must see is the small living community on the side of the AKropolis...very nice very cute very slippery when wet!

The overall experience of Athens was a quite one, when we compare it to our return 2 weeks later. The sun had found its way and the people were not affraid anymore to be out and about... all 5 million of them. The difference in atmosphere was so big that it almost felt as if we were in another city!
Right now I am sitting in my car...waiting for soemone to let me into our office... Right here and now I promise to return with more about greece... for now this is PRODUX, god of production, signing off to work yet another day ( complimented by a much needed shower of rain...)

Double = Bubbel

Beste Vriendjes & Vriendinnetjes.

WEBBY AWARDS

Finally... a day of reflection (brought on by a succesfull night at KOEN van sales...tanx man!).

Yesterday I was told I should check out the winners of the webby awards... which is an award for the best websites in their categories. Because I do not have or take the time to check or seek out cool sites, this is a great way to see what are regarded as the best sites of 2006/7.

If you want to check out all the sites yourself: www.webbyawards.com

Here are a few I think you should check out when time is at your side...

the radar is up!

...after some deliberation, I also have succumbed to the art of BLOGGING. In the quest for a cool name I have dubbed my blog with the name RIPPLE RADAR. Mainly because the basic idea is to try and come up with a cool sounding name, and on a more essential note, because the reference to a radar kind-of reminds me of spotting things that are in my personal ripple (www.ripple.nl).

For now this will be my first blog ever... on to bigger and better!'
